The focus of this session will be on how schools and educators can be anti-racist through racially diverse literature and racial equity social emotional learning. Participants will engage in a Connection Circle, a discussion about racial equity, intersectionality, and anti-racism through literature, and then learn how to embed anti-oppressive practices into their own work with students. Participants will walk away with: elementary SEL racial equity lesson plans, tools and resources for Connection Circles, and contact information for community partners. They will be given the opportunity to add their email to a list for future communication/tools/resources. ***HERE is the link to the article featuring our SEL work in Adams 12: https://www.actionforhealthykids.org/story/books-that-look-like-me-using-literature-to-foster-students-self-worth/
